Top 4 Panthers Head Coaching Candidates according to Under Construction.

This year has been a year of “Missed Opportunities.” Injuries derailed the 2019 Carolina Panthers season, with several key members of the roster missing significant time. Ron Rivera unfortunately became a casualty of this disaster of a season. Despite winning the division title for three straight years, he failed to have back to back winning seasons. Here are some of our top candidates’ to replace the head coach with the most wins in Panthers history.


1. Mike McCarthy

- Super Bowl XLV champion holding an overall winning percentage of .618 and a playoff record of 10-8.

- The end of his Green Bay tenure ended on a sour note as he finished with an 11-16-1 record and the relationship with noted diva Aaron Rodgers soured.

- McCarthy has seemed to embrace analytics and has assembled a coaching staff effectively known as the 33rd NFL coaching staff.


2. Eric Bieniemy

- The offensive coordinator from the Kansas City Chiefs, leading the explosive top 5 passing attack in 2019. Started with the Chiefs as the running backs coach in 2013.

- Former 9 year pro with stints in San Diego, Cincinnati and Philadelphia.

- 10 years’ experience as a position coach and 3 years as a OC

- A reported leader of men, likened to being a head coach as being a CEO of a fortune 500 corporation.

3. Matt Rhule

- The current Baylor head coach has lead this team from disaster to triumph. Baylor was in shambles coming off the Art Briles led debacle. His first season they were 1-11 and two years later they’re 11-2 playing in the Sugar Bowl.

- Everywhere he’s been he’s turned around the program. He guided Temple from a last place team to first place in his final two seasons there.

- Only 44, Tepper reportedly wants someone long term.

- Has NFL experience, was an assistant offensive line coach with the New York Giants in 2012.

4. Josh McDaniels

- Has prior NFL head coaching experience, has an 11-17 record with the Denver Broncos from 2009-2010.

- Comes from the Bill Belichick coaching tree, has been in the New England organization for 14 years.

- Still only 43 years old, has gained a wealth of knowledge. Tepper reportedly wants a long term option.

- Received criticism for backing out of the Colts gig last season.
